NICOLAS PONS-VIGNON JASON SCHNECK December 12 2024 Long-term care in Switzerland faces significant challenges that crystallize in the difficulties faced to recruit and retain workers. Our research started from the premise that there was a hidden malaise among LTC workers that had to be explored by teasing out their perspective. We co-developed the research process with workers to identify both problems and solutions to the LTC crisis. A key grievance for is the lack of organizational autonomy, which thwarts workers\u2019 ability to draw on their expertise and experience to provide quality care. It is therefore the organization of care work that is stifling workers and contributing to their frustration, generating what we call the vicious cycle of care. To respond to this challenge, the collective voice of workers must be heard in policy discussions, and we have developed, with the support of Unia, a worker-driven Manifesto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Language: English<\/p>\n\n\n\n The PowerPoint is available here (English)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
