À partir des données de la cohorte SCOHPICA-Professionnel∙les de la santé, ce webinaire apportera des éléments de réponse aux questions suivantes à travers trois présentations :

1. Expériences professionnelles selon le lieu de pratique

Comment les professionnel∙les de la santé évaluent la qualité des soins dispensés aux patient·es ? Cette perception varie-t-elle selon la profession exercée et le lieu de pratique, et quels facteurs y sont associés ?

2. Expériences professionnelles selon le lieu de pratique

Comment les expériences professionnelles, le bien-être et l’intention de rester dans la profession varient-ils selon les lieux de pratique chez les infirmier·ères et les médecins ?

3. Pratique infirmière avancée

Comment se distinguent les rôles des infirmier·ères diplômé·es, spécialisé·es et de pratique avancée ? Dans quelle mesure leur implication dans les domaines de pratique avancée est-elle associée à leur satisfaction au travail, leur bien-être et leur intention de rester dans la profession ? (Étude NURSCOPE)

Two main focuses of the SCOHPICA project are the intent to stay in the profession and the career trajectories of healthcare professionals. In this talk, we will present recent developments in the study of these issues. First, we propose a comprehensive model that explains how a range of factors influence the intent to stay in the profession for nursing staff, and how it can be extended to other care professions. Second, we explore data on employment histories collected within the SCOHPICA project by revealing a typology of career trajectories among healthcare professionals in Switzerland, and characterizing the types thus identified. These insights are critical to sustaining a well-staffed and satisfied health workforce. The corresponding analyses are funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

October 3 2024 – Healthcare professionals in Switzerland: two years of the SCOHPICA project

During the last two years, over 5900 healthcare professionals participated in SCOHPICA. In this talk, we will discuss recent advancements in the SCOHPICA project and present main results, comparing them across the first two data collection years, i.e., 2022 and 2023. Furthermore, we will explore how various professional characteristics interact with well-being and the intention to stay in the profession. SCOHPICA continues to support the monitoring, planning and management of the Swiss health workforce by providing essential data to healthcare stakeholders.

Over 1700 healthcare professionals were surveyed during the 1st data collection of the SCOHPICA national cohort. In this talk, we will explore in more detail the socio-professional data gathered and investigate their relationship with well-being and turnover intention. We will also examine how various factors such as workload, available resources, meaning of work, burnout or recognition at work, among others, are associated with professionals’ intention to stay in the profession and well-being. These findings may open up promising pathways for enhancing the satisfaction and retention of healthcare professionals in Switzerland.

March 30 2023 – SCOHPICA: Presentation of the First Results

The baseline survey collected data among 1853 healthcare professionals, exceeding the original target of 1500 participants and showing promising signs of data collection for this project. This is essential for the data to capture the reality experienced by healthcare professionals in the field. These first results will provide first hints on the current situation, working conditions, experience and well-being of the Swiss healthcare workforce.
